Our Services
Experience has taught me that there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution; my belief is that each client is unique and, therefore, the solution needs to be as well.
Therapy Solutions is different from other therapies, as it draws techniques from a number of alternative modalities to work through the problem. I work hand-in-hand with your family to understand what is happening, identify your goals, implement the agreed solutions to move forward, put actions into place, and monitor these actions to ensure results!
1
Mental Health Coaching
Events that happen when we're young, even those we think are small and insignificant, can have a direct impact on how we feel and behave as adults.
When working with children, I look at how we can make positive changes by providing them with tools and weekly goals, rather than focusing on past events.
One of the greatest compliments I get from parents is how relaxed their children are with my coaching methods. I pride myself on working with the child by respecting what they say and placing value on their opinion while providing a fun, interactive, and creative process.
2
Family Strategic Intervention
When working with a family I use a coaching method referred to as Strategic Intervention (SI). The emphasis of Family Coaching is not on the individual but on the social situation or structure. It aims to solve problems, achieve family goals, and ultimately, change an individual's dysfunctional or problematic behaviour.
The basis of SI is that individuals, relationships, families, and communities can be directed toward positive change through the strategic planning of skillful interventions.
3
Hypnotherapy
Children are great candidates for hypnosis! It requires them to enter the same mental state as when playing imaginary games or daydreaming (the unconscious mind). While accessing their subconscious mind, we can bring about the desired change agreed upon before the session.
For example, a child who consciously wants to overcome their fear of crowds may try everything they can consciously do, but will still fail, as long as their subconscious mind retains this terror and prevents them from succeeding.
Hypnosis works because it reprograms the subconscious mind; once this is achieved, we can change behaviour and reach the desired outcome.
4
Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP works to identify your child's thought processes, the language they use to convey their ideas and emotions, and the behaviors they exhibit based on the programming of their unconscious mind. NLP will help them become aware of their thought patterns and recognise certain behaviours they want to change
5
EFT (Tapping)
EFT is commonly referred to as "psychological acupuncture" and works by releasing any blockages that exist in your energy system. These blockages make you feel uncomfortable and emotionally unstable.
The aim of EFT therapy is that the negative emotions infecting your energy system manifest into different conditions and problems. Once the flow is corrected, it can help combat your child's issue as well.
EFT is non-invasive; it requires you to use your fingertips to tap the energy points in your meridian. With acupuncture, a needle would be applied to these points.
